Event Details

NalleJoin HCC to assist with shoreline stabilization at the Nalle Bunny Run Preserve on August 1 from 8 AM – 11 AM. Volunteers will be lifting rocks to slow erosion and damage on the Lake Austin shoreline. This is a family friendly volunteer opportunity! Thanks to KDBJ LP for donating the materials and helping us with this important landscape restoration project


Location: Lake Austin shoreline of the Nalle Bunny Run Preserve, near the Pennybacker/ 360 Bridge. Directions and more details will be sent to volunteers before the workday.

 

What to Wear: Water shoes or tennis shoes you can get wet, your swimsuit, sunscreen, and a hat. Bring a change of dry clothes and shoes!

 

What to Bring: Towel, water bottle, and sunglasses. Gloves you can get wet (optional).

 

HCC will provide: Light breakfast

 

Safety Considerations: Volunteers will be wading in the water, so the terrain will be rocky and uneven. Be aware that motorized boats will be going by so please expect waves. There are also possibilities that volunteers will encounter wildlife and other animals associated with riparian (wet) areas. We will be lifting rocks of varied size, please be prepared for minimal heaving. lifting.
